Supporting USMC Toys For Tots

To the Editor:

The Newtown community excelled again! We began the United States Marine Corps Toys For Tots program late in November and concluded it on December 18. Within that short period of time, thousands of toys were donated for children throughout the area.

We trekked from place to place picking up the toys from our ten assigned collection sites in town. Then we delivered them by car and by truck with assistance from Travis Cassidy to the Ridgefield Detachment of the Marine Corps League where Henry Norley and his team of volunteers distributed the toys. It was quite a local undertaking.

We wish to thank the following, who willingly gave up their time and space for this annual project. They are: Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Children’s Adventure Center, Dr Joshua E. Baum — orthodontic specialist, Misty Morning Early Learning Center and Childcare, National Shooting Sports Foundation, Newtown Police Department, Newtown Youth Academy, Panera Bread, Prudential Connecticut Realty, and Society of Plastics Engineers.

We say thank you to all the donors on behalf of the area children, who will be the recipients of your kindness and generosity.
