NHS Swimmers Start Season With Consecutive Wins
Newtown High Schoolâs boysâ swimming and diving team is 2-0 to start the year following a 97-87 win over New Fairfield in the season opener on December 16 and a 93-79 win over Masuk of Monroe on December 18.
In the win over New Fairfield, the Nighthawks earned first-place finishes as follows:
200 yard medley relay: Alex Kron, Nick Lafky, Matt Iassogna and Luke Fiore, 1:49.68.
200 intermediate relay: Lafky, 2:16.32.
50 freestyle: Fiore, 23.33.
100 free: Dan Hufziger, 51.55.
200 free relay: Fiore, Conor Donnelly, Michael Hubbard and Abben Hung, 1:38.31.
100 backstroke: Iassogna, 1:07.11.
100 breaststroke: Lafky, 1:09.77.
Diving: Allie Didomizio, 123.06 points.
In the win over Masuk, Newtownâs first-place results were as follows:
