This interdenominational Christian church meets Sundays, 10:30 am–12:30 am, for Morning Worship, with fellowship immediately following the service. Additional programs and services include: The Lion of Judah Reach Out Ministry, which helps men and women and teens transition from prison life to society; shelter for battered and abused women; housing for ex-offenders and battered women. Lion of Judah Reach Out Ministry also provides counseling and clothing for teens. A drill team for teens, including musical instruments, is also available for teens. Volunteers welcome. Newtown Congregational Church will offer three Christmas Eve (December 24th) worship services, which will be as follows: 5:30 PM Family Service with a Christmas Pageant; 7:30 PM Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols – a traditional service filled with special music, and scriptural retelling of the Christmas story; and 11:00 PM Service of Light and Communion, which will be a quiet and reflective service celebrating the light of Christ in which communion is offered and Christmas Day is welcomed with the chiming of the midnight hour. On December 27, Rev. Janice Touloukian will preach about “Mary’s Gift To The World” with the sermon being based on Luke 1:39-55. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
