Newtown High School’s hockey team skated to a 6-0 win over host Sheehan of Wallingford, at Choate Rosemary Hall, on December 23. With the win, the Nighthawks improved to 2-0.

Scott McLean had two goals and an assist, and David Brestovansky, Devin Marsh, Sean Ferris, Domenic Cartelli, and Andrew Gardner all added net-finders. Marc Carlson and Jack Hanley registered assists.

Newtown goaltender Nicholas Chaloux stopped all 16 shots he faced to earn the shutout.

The Nighthawks return to action for their first home contest when Hall-Southington comes to Danbury Ice Arena on Saturday, December 26, for a 2 pm puck drop. That’s the first of three straight home games for the Nighthawks; they take on the Eastern Connecticut Eagles on Monday, December 28, and the Joel Barlow of Redding Falcons on Wednesday, December 30 – both at 5 pm.
