NHS Grapplers Top Stratford, Shine In Guilford Tournament

Newtown High School’s wrestling team knocked off Stratford 48-33 in the season-opener, also the first sporting event at the new NHS gymnasium, on December 15.

The Nighthawks then participated in the Guilford Tournament, and took home six individual top-four finishes as follows: 103, Nick Crudo, first; 145, Joe Pieretti, first; 189, Aaron Nezvesky, first; 140, Patrick Zingaro, second; 171, Cory Fisher, third; 135, Ian McEvoy, fourth.
