A Magical Afternoon
A Magical Afternoon
To the Editor,
This past weekend the DâAmico Family of Newtown coordinated an event at Newtown Youth Academy called âNYA Kids and Santa.â This was the second year we have coordinated this event and had over 100 children attend. On behalf of our family, we would like to thank Newtown Youth Academy and its staff for hosting and helping us with this event.
We would also like to thank the following businesses who graciously donated to our event: Bulk Materials International, SCB Office Park, Sabrinaâs Encore Productions, Bagel Delight, Caraluzziâs of Newtown, and Big Y. These businesses offered to help and give back to their community and their generosity is admirable.
In addition, there were many high school students from Newtown who volunteered to collect soccer balls, face paint, help with crafts, serve food, and monitor the sports class. We were very appreciative of their willingness to help. Also, students from Sabrinaâs Encore Productions volunteered their time and delightfully performed a holiday concert. It was magical!
The true joy of this event was seeing the childrenâs faces when they met Santa and opened their present. What a wonderful way to celebrate the Christmas season!
Thank you to everyone who volunteered and Merry Christmas.
