2011 State Park Passes Now Available

The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is making state park season passes available for purchase in the main offices of four shoreline state parks. Passes will be available for sale in these park offices until spring 2011 when ticket booths reopen for the season and park passes are available there.

Season passes are now available for purchase at the following shoreline State Parks main offices: Harkness Memorial, 275 Great Neck Road in Waterford; Hammonasset Beach, 1288 Boston Post Road/Route 1 in Madison; Rocky Neck, 244 West Main Street/Route 156 in East Lyme; and Sherwood Island, Westport.

Rock Neck’s office is open Monday through Friday from 10 am to 3 pm; the other three offices are open weekdays from 9 am until 3 pm.

The cost for season passes is $67 for a Resident Season Pass, and $112 for a Non-Resident Season Pass.

For the frequent park visitor, season passes — which are offered at a nominal fee— allow unlimited vehicle access with the window sticker to any state park or recreation area that has a parking fee for no extra charge. Season passes are valid for one vehicle per pass, valid for the entire calendar year of issue, and non-transferable to any other vehicle.

Season passes are not valid for admission to Dinosaur or Fort Trumbull State Park Exhibit Centers or tours of Gillette Castle, camping or special events with charges; if an area is closed to the public for any reason; for commercial use or on a commercial vehicle. These passes are not valid if they are not adhered to a vehicle’s windshield of a Connecticut registered vehicle (motorcycle operators may hand hold the pass).

Season passes are $67 for Connecticut residents and $112 for Out-of State residents. They can be purchased online at the DEP Store, by mail or in person.

To purchase a season pass by mail, send a check for the appropriate amount (please add $2.50 for shipping and handling charges), payable to Treasurer, State of Connecticut, to DEP Store, 79 Elm Street, Hartford CT 06106-5127.

Passes will be sent via first class mail with delivery confirmation to the address provided in each request.
