Sherman Woman Wins

Tercentennial Ball Tickets

Newtown Bee Publisher R. Scudder Smith this week announced the winner of a pair of tickets to the February 5 Tercentennial Ball.

The name of Jane Schipul of Sherman was drawn from all those subscribing, renewing, or giving gift subscriptions to The Newtown Bee during the month of December.

Ms Schipul says she gets a gift subscription every year to The Bee for her son, Robert Conlan of Taunton Hill Road in Newtown. This year her gift paid a dividend. She said she would be giving the tickets (a $200 value) to her son as well.

Tickets to the ball are no longer available at any price, according to Tercentennial Events Co-chairman Janet Woycik. She reported last week that more than 500 tickets to the ball have been spoken for, and the event is sold out.
