Firebombing
Police report that sometime between 11 pm December 15 and 6 pm December 16, someone set a residential mailbox on fire on Country Squire Lane by placing a firebomb in it. Country Squire Lane is a dead end street off Bradley Lane, near the Monroe town line.
The mailbox damage amounts to third degree criminal mischief. Police ask anyone with information on the incident to contact them at 270-8888.
Criminal Warrant
Police said they arrested Joseph Cusimano, 27, of Meriden on an arrest warrant on December 21 at Danbury Superior Court, charging him with second degree failure to appear in court, driving while under suspension, driving without automotive insurance, illegal use of marker plates, and driving an unregistered motor vehicle. The vehicular charges stem from a 2003 incident, according to police.
Cusimano, who is currently an inmate in the state prison system, was arraigned on those charges in court that day, police said.
Warrant Served
Police said they arrested Jessica Villafane, 27, of Milford on a warrant in Danbury Superior Court on December 21, charging her with second degree failure to appear in court and with conspiracy to commit sixth degree larceny. The larceny charge stems from an incident earlier this year at the Big Y supermarket on Queen Street.
Villafane, who currently is an inmate in the state prison system, was arraigned on the charges that day in court, police said.
High School Theft
Police report that they arrested two teenage boys December 21 at Newtown High School, after the boys allegedly stole approximately $40 from lockers in the boysâ locker room.
Police lodged charges of sixth degree larceny against Robert Bergeron, 17, of 89 Poverty Hollow Road, and Andrew Giannettino, 16, of 18 Chestnut Hill Road.
Each of the two boys were released into the custody of his parents for January 6 appearances in Danbury Superior Court, according to police.
SUV Into Fence
Motorist Phil Ullrich, 20, of 6 Brassie Road, who was driving a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer at about 10:45 pm December 19, was heading northward on Bonnie Brae Drive and then attempted to stop at a stop sign at its intersection with Elm Drive, but slid on the snow-covered road and went across Elm Drive, striking and damaging a fence there, police said.
Ullrich was not injured. Police verbally warned Ullrich for traveling too fast for conditions.
