*CHER’s farewell tour, very appropriately named The “Never Can Say Good-Bye Tour,” will return (once again) to Mohegan Sun Arena on Tuesday, April 12. Showtime is 7:30 and the opening set will be by THE VILLAGE PEOPLE.

This concert is the one that recently needed to be rescheduled, so the tickets from the original December 8 show will be honored in April. A limited number of tickets are still available; contact the arena’s hotline, 860-862-7163, or any TicketMaster vendor for details.

*The Uncasville casino’s Wolf Den has also added a few new shows: CHUCK NEGRON, who sang lead vocals on the hits of THREE DOG NIGHT, will headline on Friday, January 21, and on Saturday, January 22, GREGG ALLMAN AND FRIENDS will fill the room with southern-style rock.

Funk band CAMEO, who continues to be an influence through samplings of its music by younger bands, will play a free show in Uncasville on January 15.

Also new is JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS, January 16.

*Café Nine in New Haven will be closing at 4 pm on Christmas Eve, closed all day on the 25th, and then presenting a blues jam hosted by THE LANGLEY BROTHERS on December 26.

Its next scheduled event, on December 27, will be an early New Year’s Show featuring BEATNIK 2000 #239 hosted by Ed Leonard, music by FREDDIE B. DOINÍ DUB, solo acoustic performances by Kerry Miller and Tiger Marion, jazz by Kriss Santala with George Baker, readings by Meg Schumacher, Corrine Caesar and Susan Gustafson, and bellydancing by Julia. Should be quite a show.

THE IGUANAS are at Café Nine in New Haven on January 30. Tickets for the New Orleans band that once had the joy of spending a summer touring as an opener for JIMMY BUFFETT are $10 in advance or $12 the day of the show.

SISTER FUNK returns on January 14, and then Rusted Root lead singer MICHAEL GLABICKI will offer a special acoustic show on February 4.

*Also returning to New Haven, to Toad’s Place, is GEORGE CLINTON WITH PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC on January 20.

*STEVE VAI will be returning to The Webster Theatre early next year.

Tickets aren’t yet available for the March 25 show, but I’m taking that date as solid because it was announced in a press release from the theater. So hang tight on those tickets, as well as tickets for BEATLEJUICE, JIM FLORENTINE (of Crank Yankers fame) and BOB LEVY, who will co-headline on April 9.

*Tickets, at $27.50 and $49.50, are on sale for an April 9 concert by BOB WEIR & RATDOG at Foxwoods Casino’s Fox Theatre. Showtime is 9 pm; contact the box office for details or tickets, 800-200-2882 or www.Foxwoods.com.

Also on sale are the tickets for April 30’s TODD RUNDGREN & JOE JACKSON, also at The Fox Theatre. These tickets have been set at $44 and $55, and are also available through the theater’s box office

*EDDIE MONEY may be taking a break after a steady stream of shows earlier this year, but the rocker will return to the road next week for a New Year’s Eve performance in Tacoma, Wash., and then begin a loose itinerary of dates that already stretch out to mid-September.

Among those dates is a March 18 concert at Mohegan Sun, though the specifics (whether it’s in the Arena or Wolf Den) weren’t mentioned this week on LiveDaily.

*Only a limited number of tickets, in single denominations, remain for ROD STEWART’s April 13 show at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Until next week I’ll be seeing you… on the road, trying not to slide around like we were Monday morning.

Questions and comments should be sent to Shannon Hicks c/o The Newtown Bee, 5 Church Hill Road, Newtown, CT 06470, or shannon@thebee.com, or call the office at 426-3141.

Shows listed at club locations are for ages 21 and over unless specified.
