From handmade items to annual favorites, Reed Intermediate School’s Holiday Shop offered a place for students to find presents for loved ones from December 5-9.

The event was offered on the stage of the school’s cafetorium for fifth and sixth grade students.

PTA President Kathleen Shope chaired the event.

“Everyone has just been helping out. It’s been amazing,” said Shope, between students browsing items on December 5.

The event raises money for PTA events every year. This year the money will help fund a science presentation, author visits, and social/emotional learning group gifts for the school to use, according to Shope.

Some parents supported the Holiday Shop by making handmade items, like crocheted items and vases. Other gifts offered at the event this year included candles, houseware goods, jewelry, and winter hats with LED lights in them. There were also tools, shaving items, and some electronics.

After students perused present options and made their selections, PTA members and volunteers worked to wrap the items.
