Warrant
Police report that after he learned that they held a warrant for his arrest, a youth under age 18 turned himself over to police at the police station on December 20 and was charged with evading responsibility, unsafe passing, and with violating passenger restrictions for 16/17-year-old drivers.
Police said the charges stem from a motor vehicle accident that occurred on November 23 near the intersection of South Main Street and Button Shop Road.
Following arrest processing, police released the youth on a written promise to appear in court on January 9. Police did not disclose the boyâs identity because he is under age 18.

Vandalism Spree
Police said that someone vandalized multiple curbside residential mailboxes near the intersection of Merlinâs Lane and Arthurâs Court at the Camelot residential subdivision off Hattertown Road sometime overnight on December 19/20.
Investigating Patrol Officer Scott Smith asks anyone with knowledge of the crimes to contact him at the police station at 203-426-5841.
Sandy Hook Crash
Motorist Sarah Amaral, 30, of Westport, who was driving a 2007 Honda Civic sedan northward on Berkshire Road at about 9 am on December 15, stopped for traffic conditions while a motorist in front of her was preparing to turn left onto Bradley Lane, police report.
Northbound motorist Paul Fleck, 42, of Hamden, who was driving a 2009 Nissan Versa, then struck the rear end of the Honda, police said.
Fleck received a minor hand injury, police said. Amaral was transported to Danbury Hospital on a complaint of physical pain, police said.
Sandy Hook firefighters responded to the accident. Police said they issued Fleck an infraction for following too closely.
Honda Vs Toyota
Police report that motorist James Solomon, 44, of 14 Saw Mill Ridge Road was driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla sedan eastward on Church Hill Road, near its intersection with Walnut Tree Hill Road, about 12:49 pm on December 17 and then slowed for traffic conditions, after which the Toyota was struck from behind by eastbound motorist Ryan Kleinert, 17, of 60 Engleside Terrace, who was driving a 2006 Honda CRV SUV.
There were no injuries. Police said they issued Kleinert an infraction for following too closely and for violating passenger restrictions on young drivers. The Honda carried two passengers, police said.
NHS Lot
Police report a two-vehicle accident in the parking lot at Newtown High School about 2:30 pm on December 19.
In that incident, northbound motorist Nicole Davis, 17, of 23 Charter Ridge, who was driving a 2005 Honda Accord sedan, stopped for traffic conditions and was struck from behind by northbound motorist Kevin LeBlanc, 17, of 6 Oak Ridge Drive, who was driving a 2004 Volvo XC-90 station wagon, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they took no enforcement.
Hawleyville Accident
Police report that motorist Alex Lamere, 20, of Brookfield was driving a 1992 Buick sedan southward on Tower Road at about 3:45 am on December 18 and then went through a stop sign at that streetâs intersection with Obtuse Road, after which the auto struck a tree near 8 Obtuse Road.
Police said that firefighters extricated Lamere from the crashed auto. Hawleyville and Hook & Ladder firefighters responded to the incident.
Police said that Lamere and Buick passengers Mike Norman, 20, and BJ Oberndorfer, 21, both of Brookfield, were transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Police said the accident is under investigation.
