The Tax Cut’s ‘Secret’ Fee

Did you know that the payroll tax cut being bounced around by congress and Obama includes a “secret” fee (tax) on new mortgages and refinances starting immediately next year?! It amounts to about $17 per month increase on an average $200,000 mortgage. It was an AP story buried in newspapers this past Saturday, when people were busy with their holiday shopping!

Are you sick of having a supposed payroll tax cut bill carry a completely unrelated fee/tax increase on you? You can do what I did. Go to opencongress.org and look up the bill HR3630, Sec 401 and 402, read the incomprehensible section, then click on the window where you can very easily send a letter to our two senators and one representative telling them you do not agree! There is a form letter there that you can add to. Let our politicians know that you live in the real world, don’t want any more taxes and you’ll be watching!
