Sometimes humorous and often sinister, Butcher’s Cabin tells the story of an elderly man set free from prison, having served most of his life for the murders of his wife and father. With little time left, he must face his personal demons and come to terms with the scandal that cost him everything he held dear.

The reading will be on Saturday, January 14, beginning at 7:30 pm.

The title role of Amos Butcher will be portrayed by Keir Dullea, best known for his role as Commander Dave Bowman in Stanley Kubrick’s epic 2001: A Space Odyssey. On stage he starred in the acclaimed Off-Broadway revival of I Never Sang for My Father.  He recently created the role of Brooksie, the librarian, in the world premiere stage production of The Shawshank Redemption. He made his Broadway debut in Ira Levin’s Dr Cook’s Garden, following with the role of the blind young man in Butterflies Are Free, and continuing with performances in the Broadway revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, P.S., Your Cat is Dead and Doubles.
