Occupation: I’m the executive director of Child’s Play Clinic in Westport. I am a pediatric occupational therapist. What I do is work with babies, toddlers, and preschoolers primarily, with sensory disorders and developmental or genetic disorders. It’s great. It is probably one of the most rewarding jobs you can have.

Family: My husband, Michael, and I have been married 15 years. He is my childhood sweetheart. We actually grew up next to each other in Fairfield. We have three children. Katie is 12 years old and at Newtown Middle School. Our son, Mason, is 9 and at St Rose School. Scarlett is 2 years old.

Pets: Our furry family member is Roxy, a stray calico kitten we adopted in April.

How long have you lived in Newtown? We moved to Sandy Hook in June of 2002, just about nine years ago.

What do you like to do in your free time? In any moments to spare, I love to garden. I love to read, when I get the chance. Everything else is everyone else’s activities, but it’s fun.

Do you have a favorite book? The series I love is the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. It’s what True Blood, the vampire TV show, is based on. I enjoy them tremendously.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? We go to the same place I’ve been going to since I was a child, St Maartens. Our kids have all been going since Katie was 1. I’ve watched it develop, slowly, but it still has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

What is the best thing about Newtown? When we moved to Newtown, we were looking for a place that looked like Fairfield had looked when we were little, and that will stay that way for a while. It has the nature and preservation of nature here, but it’s not so far out in the woods. It’s a town that’s true to heart, with those homegrown roots to it. The other things I love, are the traditional holidays here,  Halloween on Main Street, especially.

Who do you most admire? I admire different people for different qualities, like certain professors I had in college. But I think it’s my parents I most admire. My work ethic, my pay-it-forward karma, my sensitivity to others all came from my parents. It’s a good thing.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? Starbucks! I love my mocha latte every single day! It’s a pricy little pleasure. But some girls have their handbags, some have their shoes. For me, it’s my one latte a day. My husband says if that’s all it takes to run the household, that’s okay by him.
