Olga Scherbach Kasper, 89, of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late George J. Kasper and the late Carl H. Rydberg, died December 15 with her family by her side. Born in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of Justin and Sophie Karpowicz Scherbach.
Survivors include her devoted daughter, Carole Krasowski and husband, Frank, of Sandy Hook; three grandchildren, Frank Krasowski III and wife, Alyssa, of Warren, Traci Smith and her husband, Chris, of Florida, and Paul Krasowski of Sandy Hook; a stepson, George C. Kasper and his wife, Mary, of Huntington; two step-grandchildren, Scott Kasper and wife, Kathi, of Killingworth and Laura B. Kasper of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Jean (Eugenia) Clark of Trumbull; four great-grandchildren, R.J. Kasper, Jessica Kasper, Jan C. Smith, and Madelyn Krasowski; two nieces; and two nephews.
A lifelong Bridgeport resident, she was a retired employee of General Electric Company where she worked for more than 20 years. A dedicated parishioner of Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church, she was also a member of Holy Ghost As Senior Citizens. An active and caring individual, Mrs Kasper belonged to the YMCA Industrial Seniors and gave numerous hours of volunteer work at Bridgeport Hospital. Her patience, kindness, and love will be greatly missed by her family and all those whose lives she tenderly touched.
 Funeral services were held December 19 in the Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church with the Rev Vadim Pisemmy officiating. Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery. Panaheda service was on December 18.
