Awarded Many Medals For WWIIÂ Â Â Â Service in US Army
Henry C. Cianci, 84, of Sandy Hook, died December 17 at New Milford Health and Rehab Center, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Stella Colo Cianci.
Mr Cianci was born in Long Island City, N.Y., January 1, 1921, son of Joseph and Erminia Pilone Cianci.
He was a World War II veteran, serving with the US Army. He was awarded the Army of Occupation medal, the EAME Campaign medal and the World War II Victory medal.
Mr Cianci was an insurance agent with Zurich Insurance Corp, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the VFW of Brooklyn, N.Y.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by a son, Henry J. Cianci, of Queens, N.Y.; a daughter, Barbara Pilgrim, of New Milford; a brother, Leo Cianci, of California; four grandchildren, Michael and Alexandra Cianci and Katherine and Danielle Pilgrim.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated December 28 at 10 am at St Francis Xavier Church in New Milford. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Queens, N.Y.
