BNI Members Demonstrate The Holiday Spirit

Business Network International (BNI) Newtown Chapter believes in the holiday spirit of giving. Members of the organization, which meets every Thursday morning at My Place restaurant, not only help each other with business referrals, but also participate in helping others in the community.

Bob Williams of Money Concepts, for example, who is involved with Pre-Cana at St Gregory the Great Church in Danbury and the board of directors of the United Way, also helps feed the hungry at the Dorothy Day Hospitality House.

Allyson Bernard of Real Estate Professionals of Connecticut, along with many BNI members, donated her time and energy to do a home makeover this past summer to help a family sell their home. The show was aired on the Weekend Today television show.

Malin Zergiebel of TSG Web Plus, gave his time to build a website for Interlude, a community-based mental health agency serving the greater Danbury area.

Brad Marshall of Kingdom Carpet donated 25 free carpet cleanings to the first 25 people who donate 95 dollars or more to I-95 WRKI “Guy in the sky” campaign to support the United Way.

 Other members such as Nick Minucci of Minucci Travel contributes a percentage of his profits to the New Milford Hospital to distribute to any charitable organization of its choosing.

Helping the less fortunate, Mary Ann Naventi of Premier Designs as an active member of St Francis Women’s Guild, which assists women who have faced hard times to give them hope for the future and provide them with the necessities of life.

Keeping with the holiday spirit, June McGroary of JRMC Associates is involved with organizations like the Salvation Army to help raise money for less fortunate in addition to donating food to the soup kitchens during the holiday season.

BNI members made a sizable donation to the Red Cross Katrina Fund, which was matched dollar for dollar by BNI National.
