A Great Day For Kids And Cops
To the Editor:
It was the perfect day on December 10! The weather cooperated for the Fifth Annual Stuff a Cop Car With Toys For Tots! This year we collected a record breaking 700-plus toys at the K B Toy store at Sand Hill Plaza. Many generous people both young and old stopped by with toy donations for a great cause.
The many Newtown police officers that volunteered their time that day enjoyed the kind words of encouragement that you all had to offer. We filled the police car, the Dare car, and a pickup truck with toys too many times to count.
A wonderful âChristmas Angelâ donated over $2,500 to the cause and put a huge smile on our police officersâ faces when we were told that we would be the ones who would shop for the toys! What an unforgettable and wonderful gift that âangelâ gave to the children and the officers alike.
Among just a few of the many others who donated toys was the Young Family of Sandy Hook who donated in the memory of John Hill. Thanks to everyone for their kindness and generosity that day. Thanks again on behalf of the Newtown police officers.
