Members of Newtown Bridle Lands Association (NBLA), along with riders from the Fairfield Bridle Trails Association, met at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport for a holiday-inspired Jingle Bell Ride on December 8. Twenty two horses and their riders showed up in festive attire to walk and trot along the beachfront, which was a record breaking turnout for beach rides.

The weather was sunny and fairly mild for December. Both the horses and their humans were in high spirits as all returned to the parking area to share hot drinks and snacks, but not before some very enthusiastic rolling in the sand. NBLA is always eager to join with other horse-related clubs for joint events. For more information visit nblact.org.
