Occupation: I started at the C.H. Booth Library as a clerk in August. I split my time there between adult circulation and the children’s department. I get to do the 2-year-olds’ story time. It is so much fun.

Family: My husband, Bob, who is a research and development engineer at Eaton Corporation in Bethel. I have two wonderful children, Allison, who is almost 9, and Jason, who is almost 7.

Pets: We have Flash and Luna, our cats. We got them from The Animal Center this past July. They’re still kittens and they’re very rambunctious.

How long have you been in Newtown? We’ve been here about 12 years. We moved her from Bethel.

What do you like to do in your free time? I love to make beaded jewelry and I’m an avid reader. I’m a Girl Scout leader for our third grade troop at Head O’ Meadow School and I’m helping my husband with the Cub Scouts.

Do you have a favorite book? Currently, I want to laugh when I read, so I’ve been reading books by Janet Evanovich and I just read The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? I love to go to the beaches in Rhode Island and someday I would like to go to Australia. It seems so different from what I know. It’s nice to look at somewhere that is so unique. As a child, I had the opportunity to travel to Europe, and with my husband, we have traveled to a lot of places in the United States, especially the national parks.

What is the best thing about Newtown? The sense of community. There is still a small town feel here.

If you could time travel, would you travel to the future or the past? The past. I think we have learned so much from the past. History is fascinating to me.

If you could meet anyone, who would that be? I have all these women heroes in mind. It’s hard to choose. Amelia Earhart, Helen Keller, Florence Nightingale, Marie Curie — if I had to choose just one, I don’t know who I’d choose.

Do you have a personal philosophy? I do. I always try to do my best. I think it’s important, no matter what you are doing, to do your personal best.
