Besides food bills, veterinarian bills and farrier bills, run-in sheds in the various paddocks need repairs and sometimes outright replacement. On a recent visit in November, Ms. Maring Sayegh observed a new run-in shed being built by a carpenter who volunteers his time.
Funds donated to H.O.R.S.E. of CT will be used to buy the materials needed to repair the sheds.
At the Holiday Open House, Santa Claus came to visit everyone, riding on Lacey, a draft cross horse up for adoption. His helper (Ms. Wahlers) was riding Napoleon, another draft cross horse available for adoption.
Horse rides, tours, a silent auction, handmade gifts, hot dogs and hamburgers and a bake sale were just some of the things that highlighted the day.
Andrea Sayegh of Newtown was one of many who volunteered their time for the day, with Sayegh manning the bake sale tent.
