Family Ice Fishing Class

DERBY — A family ice fishing class will be held at Kellogg Nature Center on Saturday, January 6, from 10 am to noon. A snow date has been set for January 7 from 2 to 4 pm.

The class will be conducted by certified Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Aquatic Resources Education instructors. It will be a classroom environment that will teach students about equipment, bait, techniques, terminology, rules and regulations, as well as ethics and sportsmanship and where to fish and what might be caught.

Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult. The class is free of charge but preregistration is required because class size is limited.
