Poetry Readings Saturday At Aldrich Museum

RIDGEFIELD — The winners of the Biennial Larry Aldrich Poetry Competition, sponsored by Aldrich Museum’s “Stage A: Poetry & the Spoken Word” series, will have a special reading at the museum on Saturday, January 6.have been announced.

Kimberly Cloutier Green of Kittery Point, Me., and Steve Lautermilch of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., were selected as the winners of this year’s competition by juror Alice Quinn, the poetry editor of The New Yorker magazine. On Saturday at 4 pm, Ms Quinn will introduce Ms Green and Mr Lautermilch and present each with an honorarium.

Ms Quinn and Mr Lautermilch will then read from both their published manuscripts and new works. The program will begin at 4 pm; a book signing will follow the reading. Suggested donation is $5, which will include refreshments that will be served during a post-reading reception, and reservations are requested.

 “Stage A: Poetry” will resume its monthly open mic nights at the museum in February. The series is presented the first Friday of the month. The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art is at 258 Main Street/Route 35 in Ridgefield. Contact the museum at 203/438-4519.
