John C.         Chimileski, Jr
John C. Chimileski, Jr, 79, husband of Constance (Werner) Chimileski of Berkshire Road, Sandy Hook, died December 20 at his home.
Mr Chimileski was born in Marianna, Penn., February 2, 1921, son of the late John and Anna Chimileski. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army, and drove an amphibious duck at the Battle of Anzio.
A resident of Sandy Hook since 1986, Mr Chimileski was a longtime resident of Stamford, where he was employed as a road construction worker for Peckham Materials of Stamford until his retirement. He was a member of the Teamsters.
Mr Chimileski was an avid bowler and a member of the Newtown Senior Center.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Barbara Chimileski of Sandy Hook, and four grandchildren, Scott, Lindsay, Andrew, and Brock Chimileski.
A funeral service was held December 27 in the Newtown Congregational Church with the Rev Steven Gordon officiating. Internment will be in Newtown Village Cemetery in the spring.
The Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, was in charge of arrangements.
