On Sunday, December 8, Newtown Youth and Family Services hosted its annual Newtown Holiday Festival. The festival was held on Main Street, and featured gingerbread house contests, Christmas tree displays, and musical performances.

Main Street was dressed in red and green, and residents bopped in and out of the different buildings open for visitation. The C.H. Booth Library hosted Mrs Claus as she read a story to the many children who visited her. Moana from the hit Disney movie came to visit the library, too, spending time with the children by answering their questions, taking photographs, and singing her famous songs.

The festival also hosted a “Historic House Tour.” Residents on Main Street opened their homes to the public. The homes were exquisitely decorated for the season with sparkling lights on trees, greens adorning window boxes and hugging door frames, and stockings around the mantle.

At Edmond Town Hall, vendors packed the gym and along Main Street selling holiday goods, decorations, and gifts. The Newtown Historical Society opened the Matthew Curtiss House, too, and featured a fiddler, Joseph Mangini, to welcome guests. A good time was had by all, which is evident from the many smiling faces and excited children.
