Newtown Police received reports on December 9 of multiple vehicles being broken into at the Fairfield Hills campus. Vehicles parked in the parking lot on Keating Farms Road, near the soccer field and cul-de-sac, had their windows smashed and purses were taken.

Surrender On Two Charges
Paul Carpenter, 57, of Newtown, turned himself in at Newtown Police Department on December 10, following an incident on October 20 when he was found to be in possession of a firearm. That possession put Carpenter in violation of a current protective order that stated he must surrender or transfer all firearms and ammunition.
Carpenter was arrested and charged with criminal possession of firearm/ammunition/defense weapon and also with violation of protective order. He was processed, then released on a promise to appear at Danbury Superior Court the following day.
