Fifth Grader Wins Fire Prevention Poster Contest

Nadia Fan, age 10, a fifth grader at Reed Intermediate School, holds her winning poster for the town fire marshal office's annual fire prevention poster contest. The poster shows a young girl roasting a fish over a campfire, which she is watching for the sake of fire safety. The poster carries the wording "Fire Prevention - Everyone, Every Day." Nadia won a $100 prize in the contest. Her poster will be entered in the county competition of the Connecticut Fire Prevention Poster Contest. Shown with Nadia are her father, Yao, and Deputy Fire Marshal Jamilynn Zapata.
