Alone On The Hill
Alone On The Hill
Sleeping late on a day off Friday, December 14, following a field trip, two St Rose students had the hillside at Treadwell Park to themselves in the early afternoon. Leaving tracks through the snow, Johnny Kerins and Jack Curry stamped their way up the hill side-by-side to find a good spot to drop their sleds.
On a dare, the young men soon made a rush for the bottom, erasing older tracks on the way. After leaving slick paths in the snow with the swipe of a sled run, the friends picked up their slick plastic rides and headed again for the top. A few minutes later they decided that snow softened by 40-degree sunshine was perfect for pressing into snowballs.
Last Thursdayâs accumulations were just a taste of more winter weather to come. The weekendâs forecast also predicts snow on Sunday, a perfect backdrop for holiday shopping.
