Live Nativity At St Rose

An outdoor live nativity featuring adults, babies, and animals will take place, weather permitting, at St Rose Church on Friday, December 22, from 6 pm to 8 pm. The event had been scheduled for last week but was postponed because of the weather.

Everyone is welcome to come to St Rose and view the living crèche, which will be set up on the lawn next to the parish center.

“The Paproskis’ cow will be there along with the Sippin family’s little Alpaca llamas and a big llama that is being fashioned into a camel,” said Pam Arsenault. “There are several babies who will take turns portraying the infant Jesus in the manger.”

The tradition of a live nativity began in 1225 when St Francis of Asisi recreated the manger scene on a hillside in Greccio, dressing the townspeople in costumes and using live animals.
