Early Deadlines, Holiday Closings For Christmas & New Year
The print editions of the December 27, 2024 and January 3, 2025 Newtown Bee will have early deadlines ahead of the Christmas and New Year holidays.
All Editorial content is due by noon Monday, December 23, for the print edition of December 27; and by noon Monday, December 30, for the print edition of January 3, 2025.
Copy for display and classified advertising must be received by our office as follows: Real Estate Display: 10 am Fridays, December 20 and 27, respectively; regular Display ads and Real Estate Classified ads (In-Column), 10 am Mondays, December 23 and 30; and regular (In-Column) Classifieds, 10 am Tuesdays, December 24 and 31, respectively.

Holiday Closings
The office of The Newtown Bee will close at 3 pm Tuesday, December 24, and then remain closed all day Wednesday, December 25. It will also be closed Wednesday, January 1.
It will reopen at 8 am Thursdays, December 26 and January 2.
Town offices and agencies will close at noon Tuesday, December 24, and remain closed until 8 am Thursday, December 26, for the Christmas holiday weekend.
The transfer station on Ethan Allen Road will close at 11 am Tuesday, December 24, and then remain closed for Christmas Day/Wednesday, December 25.
The following week the transfer station will have its regular operating hours (7 am-3 pm) on New Year’s Eve/Tuesday, December 31. It will be closed New Year’s Day/Wednesday, January 1.
Newtown Community Center will close at noon December 24, and remain closed December 25.
The following week, the center will close at 4 pm New Year’s Eve, and then remain closed on January 1.
There are no swim lessons, water aerobics, nor Health & Wellness classes December 24-January 2.
C.H. Booth Library will close at 1 pm Tuesday, December 24, and remain closed on Wednesday, December 25. It will reopen at 9:30 am Thursday, December 26. It will follow the same schedule the following week for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Edmond Town Hall will not be screening movies on December 24-25. Screenings of The Polar Express will run December 20-22, and then Batman Returns is planned for December 27-29.
Newtown’s public schools will have early dismissal on Friday, December 20, and then be closed through Wednesday, January 1. Classes will resume Thursday, January 2.
In addition, there will be no regular mail delivery on December 25 or January 1; both are United States Postal Service holidays.
