William (Billy) Garbarino, born on October 28, 1948, in Bronx, New York, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2023.

He was the beloved son of Guido M. Garbarino and Mary Taylor Garbarino. Billy is now reunited with his pre-deceased brothers, James, John, and Robert Garbarino.

He is survived by his siblings and their families: Jane Manning, Guido, Richard, and Thomas Garbarino. Billy is remembered by the love of his life for 44 years, wife Carol, his son Matthew of Portland, Me., and his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Kristy of Jericho, Vt. He leaves behind a legacy of joy and laughter through his grandchildren he was known to as Popsie, Oliver and Phoebe.

Billy’s journey through life included his undergraduate education at Iona College, followed by an MBA degree from Mercy. Billy’s humor, wit, and silly antics drew people close to him in his personal life and throughout his professional career. Billy focused much of his life cheering for and supporting those less fortunate.

One of Billy’s greatest joys was spending time with family and friends on Hancock Pond in Maine. Beaver Shores held a special place in his heart, and the memories created there will be cherished by those who had the privilege of sharing those trips with him. Billy was fortunate to have a wonderful trip to the cabin recently to celebrate his 75th birthday in October.

A memorial service to celebrate Billy’s life will be held in 2024; details will be shared with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests considering a donation to Newtown Scholarship Fund, a cause close to Billy’s heart.

Billy Garbarino touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor, and love. He will be deeply missed by family and friends alike. May he rest in eternal peace.
