What Did It Cost?
What Did It Cost?
To the Editor:
Money is tight in the town budget, so my question is how much did it cost to use six men 2½ days to put that elaborate speed bump/cross walk on Glover street and six men 2½ days to remove it and paint a crosswalk? Thatâs a total of a weekâs work for six men; what did it cost?
If the town wanted to make money, one good way would be to enforce the traffic laws in town. Just stand at the corner of Route 302 and Route 25, right by the police station, on a rainy like these last two. Three out of ten cars do not have their lights on, but the wipers are on because you couldnât see without on. Now how many years has the law about lights must be on when the wipers are on? The only reason itâs only three out of ten without headlights on is new GM cars have auto daytime running lights in their cars. The law should be enforced for the safely factor; maybe if a few tickets were given it would be safer to drive in the rain and fog.
