The One Who Brought It

All Together

To the Editor:

On Saturday, December 6, the new kitchen at the Edmund Town Hall was officially unveiled during the Rotary Club’s Annual Pancake Breakfast. While many people contributed to making this needed renovation possible, the person who brought it all together was Jim Juliano.

To obtain funding and approval for the project, Jim wrote a 16-page report detailing specifications and costs. He personally picked up the water heater in his own truck and moved it up to the kitchen. Jim made sure that each of the contracts was given to a Newtown business. Many mornings during the summer and fall months, he was at the Edmund Town Hall by 7 am to meet with individual contractors. He helped solve the problems involved with putting new construction in an aging building. Jim did all of this as a volunteer because he loves the town.

Thank you, Jim, for putting this jewel in the heart of Newtown in a brighter setting. With the contribution of your time and talent, you have continued Mary Hawley’s generous legacy.
