DTC Looking To Fill Lyddy’s Council Seat

The Newtown Democratic Town Committee is looking for a District 1 Democrat to fill the Newtown Legislative Council seat which is being vacated by Christopher Lyddy. In November, Mr Lyddy won the 106th District state legislative seat, and will take office in January 2009.

Mr Lyddy told The Newtown Bee in a December 16 e-mail that he plans to resign the local seat by year’s end.

The local council term which needs to be filled by a District 1 Democrat expires in November 2009. Registered Democrats interested in filling the council vacancy are asked to e-mail resumes to DTC Candidate Committee Chair LeReine Frampton at: LeReine@charter.net.

The deadline to tender one’s resume for consideration is December 27.
