Silvermine Elects New Trustees
NEW CANAAN â Eight new trustees were elected to the board of Silvermine Guild Arts Center of New Canaan at the boardâs recent annual meeting. The board is composed of both Guild artists and supporting members.
The new supporting members are Anne Chewning of Darien, Elizabeth Jackson of Norwalk, Robert Lenz of South Kent, and Ben Ortiz of Bridgeport.
New artist members of the board are Lucy M. Krupenye of Wilton, Helen Kunzman of South Salem, N.Y., Adam Niklewicz of Sandy Hook, and Edmund Yuhas of Hartsdale, N.Y.
Co-chairs of the board of trustees are supporting members Louis Lauer of Wilton and G. Benjamin McClure of New Canaan. Mitchell Friedman and Roger Mudre of Weston are co-chairs of the Guild of Artists.
The Silvermine Guild Arts Center includes a Guild of nearly 300 professional artists who are elected to membership by a jury of artist peers, a school of art for all ages and levels of ability, outreach programs in area schools, a summer chamber music series, and a broad range of cultural and educational programs for the regional community.
