Ring In The New Year With Laughter

WATERBURY — Count down to the New Year with the best of stand-up comedy at Seven Angels Theatre. Four comedians direct from New York City’s comedy club circuit and television will cause an uproar as the clock counts down to midnight on Sunday, December 31, with shows at 6:30 and 9:30 pm.

Hosting the New Year’s Eve comedy evening will be the incorrigible Perry Gardne, won the 2000 CT Comedy Festival and became “The Funniest Man in CT.”

Comedian Steve Byrne will deliver his wit direct from the “Make Me Laugh” college tour in which he starred. Mr Byrne has performed across the US and Canada.

With a talent that ranges from television to the stage, comedian Rich Frances creates laughs on Saturday Night Live as both staff writer and performer. Mr Frances has also appeared on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Chris Rock Show, Louie Anderson Show and on MTV.

The evening will be completed with the comic dynamo Marion Grodin. Ms Grodin has commanded the spotlight at Duplex Cabaret Theatre and Gotham Comedy Club with her one-woman shows. She has been a featured comedian in the Marshall Women’s Comedy Festival and Toyota Comedy Festival. Her television credits include roving correspondent on The Charles Grodin Show and conducting slightly off-beat interviews for Inside Edition.

The evening will also include WATR 1320 AM on-air personality Tom Chute, who will treat audiences to his own blend of light jazz standards and contemporary songs with Richard DeRosa at the piano.

Tickets for the 6:30 show are $38; and the 9:30 show is $60, which includes a champagne reception and hors d’oeuvres.

Seven Angels Theatre is in Hamilton Park on Plank Road in Waterbury. Call the box office at 203/757-4676 for more information.
