Robert Braddock

Robert George Braddock, 85, of Southbury, formerly of Bethel, died December 14 at his home. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Combes) Braddock. He was born April 29, 1932, in Bronx, N.Y., son of the late Louise (Shanahan) and Clarence Braddock.

His children and their spouses, Robert C. and Suellen Braddock of Newtown; Stephen J. and Ila Braddock of Danbury; Thomas K. and Jaclyn Braddock of Lincoln Park, N.J.; Susan and David Parille of Danbury, Elizabeth G. and Kevin McQueen of Bridgewater; and ten grandchildren, Caitlin, Kyle, Stephanie, Emily, Ellen, Ryan, Tyler, Matthew, Ethan, and Aiden, survive him.

Mr Braddock grew up in Larchmont, N.Y., and served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked for a phone company in New York and later in Connecticut for nearly 40 years until his retirement.

During his time living at Heritage Village, he was involved in various groups, including badminton, bocce, cards, and especially the morning coffee group. He enjoyed bowling, golf, watching the Mets and Giants, and spending time with his family.

The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, on Monday, December 18, from 4 to 7 pm.

A graveside service will be conducted at St Mary Cemetery, Bethel, on Tuesday, December 19, at 10:30 am. Attendees should gather directly at cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals On Wheels of Western Connecticut, 232 North Elm Street, Waterbury CT 06702.
