William A. Lancey, Sr, 74, of Manchester, previously of Danbury, died December 10, at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Mr Lancey was born in Danbury, February 8, 1935, son of Ruth (Peck) and Irving Lancey.
He enlisted in the US Air Force and served from 1952 to 1956. Mr Lancey was a retired bus driver and was employed by the John W. Leahy Oil Co. of Danbury. He was a member of the Baptist Church of Danbury.
Mr Lancey is survived by five children; and five siblings, including Betty Nichols of Newtown; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his former wife, Mary (Schrimer) Lancey; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place Friday, December 18, at noon, in the Baptist Church of Danbury, 14 Granville Avenue, with the Reverend Dr David Reinhardt, officiating. Burial will take place in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.
The family will receive friends in the Baptist Church on Friday, after 11 am.
