Holiday Closings

All town offices and agencies will be closing at noon on Thursday, December 24, and will remain closed on Friday, December 25, for the Christmas holiday.

C.H. Booth Library will be closing at 2 pm on Christmas Eve, and then remain closed until Saturday, December 27. Regular hours will resume on Saturday (9:30 am to 5 pm).

Newtown Senior Center will be closed all day December 24 and 25.

The transfer station at the former landfill on Ethan Allen Road will close at 11 am on December 24 and will reopen at 7 am on December 26. The same schedule will be followed for the New Year’s holiday the following week.

The public schools will be closed from December 24 until January 1. Classes resume on January 4.

The offices of The Bee will be open on December 24 and December 31, but closed December 25 and January 1.

Please note that deadlines for the issues of December 25 and January 1 will be affected by the holidays . Everything will be due 24 hours earlier than normal.
