Children’s Teddy Bear Tea Being Planned By Mattatuck Museum

WATERBURY — Extend the joy of the holidays at an afternoon of fun designed especially for children. The Mattatuck Museum Arts & History Center will host “Teddy Bears, Toys and Tea” on Tuesday, December 29, from 1 to 3 pm.

The merriment will begin with a scavenger hunt in the museum’s exhibits. The next stop will be a tea party with delicious snacks that will delight children and teddy bears. And since teddy bears love stories, the festivities will end with a storyteller.

Storyteller Rita Hughes, a Cheshire resident and former kindergarten teacher, will share her love of stories, telling traditional tales of toys and winter.

Children are invited to bring a teddy bear or other stuffed animal guest.

Register in advance by calling the museum at 203-753-0381 extension 10. Admission is $5 per child ($4 for children of members). Children must be accompanied by an adult, and admission for adult companions is free.

The museum is at 144 West Main Street.
