Author & Painter Steiner Will Talk

At Minor Memorial Library

ROXBURY — Teacher, cartoonist, novelist and painter Peter Steiner will present a talk at Minor Memorial Library on Sunday, December 20, at 1:30 pm. Mr Steiner’s 90-minute presentation will coincides with an exhibit of his paintings at the library, which continues through Monday, January 4.

In 1978, Mr Steiner left his academic career as a professor of German in order to devote himself full-time to art and to writing.   For more than 25 years, he drew cartoons for The New Yorker as well as for numerous other publications.  In 2004 his focus switched to writing and painting.

“While I’m painting stories begin forming inside me…While I’m writing, images grow inside me,” he has said. His latest novel, The Terrorist, will be published in the spring.

Mr Steiner’s web site, www.plsteiner.com, has additional information and views of his art. Admission to his talk at the library is free and open to the public.

The library, at 23 South Street, is handicapped accessible. Call the library at 860-350-2181 for information and directions.
