Newtown Municipal Center and Newtown Community Center will both be closed due to today's snow.

Newtown Emergency Communications Center Director Maureen Will announced the closure of the municipal center early this morning, through a CodeRED announcement. While the center will be closed, employees "are expected to check their voicemail and email and get back to the public if necessary."

The closure was also announced on the Town website and via email to those who registered for Town announcements.

The community center announced the one-day closure on its Facebook page.

Newtown Continuing Education (NCE) Director Jenifer Arnold announced Thursday morning that NCE's ’s office would be closed for the day.

"Our web store is always open and the public is encouraged to enroll in upcoming Winter and Spring programs through newtown-ce.revtrak.net," she noted.

Anyone with questions is invited to use NCE's online store, above, to submit a question, or contact Arnold through continuinged@newtown.k12.ct.us.

"We will get back to them promptly," she promised, adding "Wishing everyone a cozy and safe, snowy day."
