Whalers Host Newtown Night At Danbury Ice Arena

The Danbury Whalers are hosting Newtown Night at their home game against the Rome Frenzy at the Danbury Ice Arena on Saturday, January 8 at 7 pm. The Newtown Ice Hockey Booster Club is selling tickets for the game, and a portion of the proceeds will go to the team.

All tickets are $14 and everyone who buys tickets from the players or booster club will sit together in either section 100 or 101. There will be chances to win money/prizes via a 50/50 raffle and chuck-a-puck, and the Whalers will auction off that’s night’s game-worn jerseys which will have a specially-designed Newtown patch on them. A portion of the proceeds from these events will go to the Nighthawks.

The players will also work for tips by serving as food and (non-alcoholic) beverage runners will deliver orders to the fans. It will be a fun family night and the Newtown team members are hoping to sell a lot of tickets and make some much needed money for the program .

With limited funding from the school, the hockey team counts a lot on fundraising and support from the community, friends, neighbors, and especially hockey lovers.
