We Don't Make Our Own Traffic Laws
We Donât Make Our Own Traffic Laws
To the Editor:
I notice the speed limit has been reduced from 35 to 30 on Toddy Hill Road. I travel this road at least two times a day. When I go the speed limit, invariably a car will pass me on a small straight stretch going south when there are no cars approaching from the south. Either that or they ride right on my back bumper until I turn into Pilgrim Lane.
Iâm waiting for the day when a car will pull out of one of the intersecting streets while the passing car is in their lane. While I wait at the end of Pilgrim Lane for the school bus I canât help but think where those cars will end up.
Donât know what the answer is to this problem. I know the police canât be everywhere all the time. I know some drivers think they can make their own traffic laws. We see that all the time in this town. I like to think these lawbreakers are just passing through our âNicer in Newtown.â Are they?
