Sarah and Douglas Hensal

Sarah Lynch and Douglas Hensal of Danbury were married on September 11, 2010, by Judge Dianne Yamin. The ceremony and a reception both took place at The Fox Hill Inn in Brookfield. The bride was given into marriage by her father.

Sarah is the daughter of Sally and Chris Lynch of Sandy Hook. Douglas is the son of Betty and Tom Hensal of Brookfield.

For her wedding, Sarah selected an Alfred Angelo strapless beaded gown, white with navy blue accents. She carried a bouquet of orange and yellow Gerber daisies and orange rust mini calla lilies.

Robyn Johnson of Milford was the matron of honor. Hers was a navy blue dress with clover green sash, and she carried a bouquet of orange, yellow, and chocolate brown Gerber daisies and orange rust mini calla lilies.

Jennifer Adzima of Easton and Laura Lynch of Meriden were bridesmaids, and Elizabeth, Katherine and Paige Hensal, all of Verona, N.J., were junior bridesmaids. The bridesmaids wore dresses that echoed that of the matron of honor, while the junior bridesmaids wore clover green dresses with navy blue sashes. All carried bouquets of orange, yellow, and chocolate brown Gerber daisies and confetti roses.

Kayla Johnson of Milford, the flower girl, carried a white basket filled with orange, yellow, and chocolate brown mini Gerber daisies.

The groom’s brother, David Hensel of Verona, N.J., was the best man. Groomsmen were Seamus Walsh of Woodbury, Jeffrey Lunch of Meriden, Chad Meadows of Acworth, Ga., Kevin Koeppen of Bedminster, N.J., and Ken Scalzo of Stamford.

The Hensels celebrated their wedding with a trip to Oahu and Maui, Hawaii. They reside in Danbury.

Sarah Hensal is a graduate of Newtown High School, and a 2003 graduate of Keene State College, where she earned a BA in sociology. She is a payroll/benefits/HRIS administrator for Newtown Savings Bank.

Douglas is a Brookfield High School graduate, and a graduate also of Indiana University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management. He is a vice president of retail banking for Newtown Savings Bank.
