Free Concert For Local Food Bank

NEW MILFORD — On Sunday, December 19, at 7 pm, Doug Hartline & Friends will perform a free Christmas concert at Northville Baptist Church. There is no charge for the concert but attendees are being asked to bring non-perishable goods to help restock New Milford Food Bank.

Doug Hartline may be one of Connecticut’s best-kept secrets. His Simple Gifts, A Gentle Presence, It’s Nice to Be Home and From the Heart CDs demonstrate his ability to write strong, memorable melodies. His style has been described as folk with strong jazz influences (think Pat Metheny meets James Taylor).

The concert will include unique renditions of Christmas carols, hymns and popular songs. The performance will feature Mr Hartline on acoustic and electric guitar, Ginny Hartline on vocals, Nick Bariluk on keyboards, Gary Blu on flute and sax, George Skidd on bass, and Bob Leonard on drums/percussion.

While anything will be gratefully accepted, New Milford Food Bank’s current wish list includes peanut butter, canned goods and canned juices, cereal, and paper goods. Financial donations are also welcome.

Northville Baptist Church is at 9 Little Bear Road. For additional information call 203-744-2337 or send email to DHartline@comcast.net.
