The Last Of The Flu Shots

Kevin’s Community Center Clinic Director Jennifer Galante, LPN, administers one of the town’s dwindling supplies of flu shots to Newtown resident William Lawlor. His visit to the clinic at Canaan House was Mr Lawlor’s first since retiring from his position as a mental health nurse’s assistant at Fairfield Hills where he worked for 32 years. Following a nationwide shortage of the vaccines earlier in the fall, town health officials were able to combine a partial order with supplemental shots from the regional Visiting Nurses office, to ensure all residents with a critical need were accommodated. Town Health Director Donna Culbert expected the remaining vaccines to be distributed this week to those with physicians’ authorizations and residents over the age of 65. Bee Photo – Voket
