Jack                Hurley

Jack Hurley, 89, of Southbury, died December 9 in Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Marjorie (Miles) Hurley.

Mr Hurley was born June 17, 1915, in Norwalk, son of the late Leon and Helena (Carney) Hurley. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II in both the Pacific and Atlantic theaters, serving on a destroyer escort known as the USS Hissem. He was a lifelong resident of Stamford before moving to Southbury three years ago.

He leaves four sons, William Hurley of Newtown, John Hurley of Easton, Gary Hurley of Saratoga, N.Y., and Wayne Hurley of Stratford; one daughter, Cheryl Carlson of Southbury; one brother, Leon Hurley of Norwalk; one sister, Mildred Zarges of Newtown; and 13 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 18, at 11 am, at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury.
