Newtown resident Chuck Fulkerson was seated in front of a lit fireplace as people snacked and drank around him on Sunday, December 11, at the home of Betsy Kenyon, where a reception was held for a "Painted Ladies" 2017 calendar, created from watercolor works Mr Fulkerson painted of homes on Main Street.fulkerson1947@gmail.com
The event was designed for people to stop by, meet the artist, and buy copies of the calendar or sets of cards, also created from the watercolor paintings. Ms Kenyon's is one of the homes in the calendar. It is the December featured home, and cards were available with the image of her home on them.
The calendar and card sets were sold for $20 each.
The paintings represent months of effort by Mr Fulkerson, and the calendar ranges in depictions of the seasons. Some houses have snow piled on roofs and spilling over sidewalks. Other homes are shown with autumnal leaves or the blossoms of spring on nearby trees.
